This invited competition proposal for a new cultural precinct at Minsen Wharf, a heritage listed industrial site on the Bund, adjacent the Shanghai 2010 Expo was completed in conjunction with ANS and Anna Tweedale. New, mass produced prefabricated studios, shops, cafes and offices create a fine grain infill of interconnected laneways, courtyards, squares and streets between large scale existing industrial buildings, themselves converted to new cultural and commercial functions. This proposal married cultural production with benchmark sustainable design practice.
